McKesson Appoints NHS Radiology Specialist to Spearhead Quality Workflow Intelligence Solutions Sales

-Rory Dennis joins McKesson Imaging & Workflow Solutions as Enterprise Imaging Sales Executive-

DATE: 20 May 2016.

Rory Dennis, a qualified diagnostic radiographer with nearly ten years’ experience of working with Trusts, managing and advising on PACS and RIS systems, has joined McKesson Imaging & Workflow Solutions as Enterprise Imaging Sales Executive.

Building on his experience of working within NHS Trusts Mr. Dennis joins McKesson with the aim of improving the NHS’ quality workflows within radiology.

Initially qualified as a diagnostic radiographer, Mr. Dennis joined North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust coincident with the roll-out of the NPfIT national PACS systems. Instrumental in the implementation and training of the Trust’s PACS system, he became its Radiology Systems Manager, looking after the PACS and RIS systems and representing the Trust locally and nationally on a range of steering groups and committees. Latterly, Mr. Dennis held the position of National Account Manager for the PACS & RIS Framework at NHS Supply Chain.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Dennis says: “I have been impressed with McKesson’s significant project success stories such as Ireland's National Integrated Medical Imaging System (NIMIS), the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust and HCA Healthcare, just to mention a few of the more local projects. McKesson has an ability to deliver solutions that solve departmental and enterprise imaging challenges that the NHS is experiencing, particularly so with the Conserus solutions suite of products. I am looking forward to meeting with Trusts to help them understand how our uniquely positioned solutions can support the growing need to collaborate and transform imaging across the UK.”

He continues, “The NHS has traditionally struggled with the ability to share between different systems. In terms of the quality agenda, this has been a particular constraint. However, McKesson’s solutions allow Trusts to join different systems seamlessly; it’s enabling true interoperability, which means in practical terms that shared reporting, on-call radiology services and peer review become very straightforward. Moreover, it allows for improved quality in Radiology in such a way that Trusts don’t need to replace existing systems, which drives significant cost savings. I believe that this represents a phenomenal opportunity for the NHS and am very excited about the possibilities this brings to improving radiology services nationally.”

Ray Cahill, Territory Vice President, UK & Ireland Sales, McKesson Imaging & Workflow Solutions, concludes: “We are delighted to welcome Rory to the Enterprise Imaging team. He brings a unique skillset, with in-depth understanding of the day-to-day needs of radiologists, whilst his clear commitment to driving quality improvements in the NHS is one that is entirely aligned with our corporate vision and ethos.”
